FAQ's

Check-In Time

Check-in time is 4 pm. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer earlier check-in times due to cleaners schedules, etc.

Check Out Time

Check-out time is 11 am. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend check-out times but you are welcome to extend your trip an additional night(s) for an additional discounted fee if date(s) is available and cleaners schedule can be adjusted. If you wish to extend your stay, please reach out to us directly at info@jeirentals.com with your request. Please do so before 12 noon the day prior to your current check-out day in order to allow us time to confirm availability and payment.

Air Conditioning?

Unfortunately, our unit does not have air conditioning. We do have a ceiling fan and other portable fans throughout the unit to help with temperature control during hot periods. The ceiling fan is located in the main room. To turn this fan on, the switch located at the top of the stairs in the loft must be on. The controller to turn the fan on and manage the speed of the fan is located at the bottom of the stairs on the main level mounted to the wall on the handrail side. Unfortunately, the physical light must remain on when fan is in use.

Additional portable fans include a rotating fan in the loft, a window fan at the top of the stairs to the loft, a large box fan usually on the main floor near the dining room table, and a rotating fan in the primary bedroom downstairs. It is possible these fans may be stored in the closet in the primary bedroom by our cleaners when not needed.

Deck Lights?

We have LED line lights along the railing to provide some light and ambiance to your evenings. To turn them on, you have to plug them in outside into the exterior outlet. Please make sure you unplug them when finished. Also, please do not plug them in or unplug them if it is raining or cords/outlets are wet (e.g., dew, snow, ice, etc.).

Fireplace?

Our unit has a gas fireplace located on the main floor. To turn the fireplace on or off, there is a black switch in the fireplace itself on the right side of the logs. Even when the fireplace is not in use, there will always be a small blue flame. Never leave the fireplace running unattended (do not go to sleep, leave the unit, etc.) and always make sure the black metal safety screen is closed when in use. Glass doors can be left open when in use.

Please do not place anything in the fireplace, in front of the fireplace, or attempt to burn anything in the fireplace. Do not add wood, paper, cook smores, or any other use that you might do with a wood fireplace or campfire.

Guest policy?

The maximum number of guests is 6 in total. Due to town and community ordinances, we are unable to host any groups more than 6.

Heat?

We have two Rinnai heaters located within the unit. The one located in the primary bedroom downstairs is controlled by the nest thermostat on the wall. The one located on the main floor is controlled by the control panel on the Rinnai itself. Never turn the heat off, just turn it down via the appropriate method (nest for primary bedroom, control panel for main floor). The main floor will go to L which is the lowest setting.

The thermostat located in the kitchen is for the baseboard electric heat that is only in the kitchen. This is for emergency use only to ensure the kitchen does not fall below 55 degrees for any reason to prevent pipes from freezing. Please do not utilize this thermostat. If for any reason the Rinnai heaters are not enough, we do supply two portable space heaters which are usually located in the closet in the primary bedroom. During the deep freeze of February 2023, the Rinnai heaters were efficient enough for guests so I would not expect any issues. During that freeze, we did ask our guests to open the cabinet doors to the spaces under the sink in the kitchen and bathroom out of an abundance of caution.

Please do not utilize the gas fireplace as a source of heat and never leave the fire unattended or fall asleep with the fire going.

Internet/WIFI?

Information on the internet including the password will be sent to you the day prior to check-in via the platform you booked under.

Laundry?

Unfortunately, our unit does not have a washer and dryer. However, there is a self serve laundromat located at the Papermill Shoppes next to the grocery store. Loon Mountain Laundry is 100% self serve and requires quarters. They do have a quarter machine on site. Heavy use times are 10am to 3pm...recommend before or after for shortest wait and maximum availability of machine types.

Parking?

We have two parking spots directly in front of our unit. Please make sure you park to allow unit 2 to also have two parking spots in front of their unit. If you have additional vehicles than 2, please park them in the dirt/gravel overflow lot near the entrance to the community where the trash center is. This is the first lot you come to as you turn off the Kancamagus Highway and into the Village of Loon community on Loon Village Rd.

Pet Policy?

Unfortunately, we do not allow pets of any kind due to health and safety concerns.

Quiet Hours?

We strive to be good neighbors within our community and therefore, we expect our guests to want to be the same. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am. Please refrain from loud music or other forms of noise or light disturbances during this time.

Ski Shuttle?

There is a ski shuttle that runs throughout the Village of Loon community. The closest stop is directly in front of our unit. Just be standing on the road in front of your car(s) and the bus will stop. Ski shuttles are provided by Loon Mountain Resort on weekends/holidays only during the winter ski season. The exact schedule will be posted on their website (see link below). Changes in the schedule and the provision of the ski shuttle is never guaranteed and are subject to change.

Storage (bike, ski, etc.)?

Our unit has a ski locker (or for anything snowy/wet/muddy) directly outside the door to the unit. Please utilize the locker that does not have the electrical meter. There is a combo lock inside the unit on the wall by the door for your use if you wish to secure the locker. Never store food or trash in the locker due to our proximity to the White Mountain National Forest as bears and other furry friends do live in the area.

For bikes, kayaks, and other large items, please store them underneath the deck and not visible from the road. Never bring such items into the unit itself. Please bring your own lock/cables to secure such items that do not fit into the ski locker.

JEI Rentals is not responsible for any stolen or damaged personal items stored in or outside of our units.

Swim & Tennis Club hours and access?

We are members of the Village of Loon Swim & Tennis Club, located at 72 Loon Village Rd, which is located within walking distance of our unit. The entrance to the club is located under the overhang on the Loon Village Rd side and not the entrance to the hotel itself. The club includes two indoor pools, two outdoor pools, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a sauna, a gym, multiple outdoor tennis courts, and locker rooms with showers. Operating hours due vary so make sure you stop by (their operating hours are posted on their door) or call for current hours. To access the club, you have to bring with you the access card to swipe for the door to open and then sign in at the front desk. The card is located on the fireplace mantel. If the card is not there, please contact us and we will get you a replacement.

Things to do?

Check out our Things to Do page...we have several great ideas for you and your guests for each season of the year posted on the page. Also, check out our Vacation Blog for other local activities we have done which you might also find enjoyable.

Trash?

Please take all trash to the trash center during daylight hours. The trash center is located in the overflow parking lot which is the first right once you turn onto Loon Village Rd from the Kancamagus Highway. Do not leave any trash outside the unit or in your car and always take the trash with you at checkout. This prevents accidental run-ins with our wild animal neighbors since we abut next to the White Mountain National Forest. Bears, raccoons, skunks, and other furry friends due frequent the area and are surprisingly crafts at accessing doors, windows, and other things if trash is left unattended.

Towels for the pool?

Pool towels can be rented at the Swim Club for $1 each. Please do not bring towels from the unit to the swim club.

Water/Hot Water is not working?

In order to protect our units, we turn off the hot water heater and the water supply during the winter between guests and in other seasons too if the unit will be vacant between stays. Our property manager is responsible for turning the water on and off but sometimes this step is missed. Turning the water and/or the water heater on is very easy so we created this how-to video in case it is ever needed.
